Looking to upgrade your lawn? Hydroseeding may be the best choice for you! What is Hydroseed? *Our unique mixture contains Kentucky Bluegrass, Quicken Perennial Ryegrass, Boreal Creeping Red Fescue, Crab Grass Preventer, green dye, & Tacifier Glue for erosion control. It is sprayed onto fresh soil, to establish optimal grass growth. Why Hydroseed as opposed to traditional seeding? *Hydroseeding has advantages over traditional seeding with quicker and more uniform seed germination. It is typically more effective because when the appropriate type and rate is applied, it provides moisture retention for faster germination, insulation from humid and even cold temperatures, and sticks to the ground to prevent seeds from being disturbed; unlike traditional methods of seeding. When is the best time for this service? *Typically, the best time of year to Hydroseed is in the early Spring. This time of year will offer the best outcome for the service provided. We also recommend this time of year so that the new lawn can begin to germinate before crabgrass seeds start to invade the lawn. How do I care for the lawn after application? *After the initial application of the Hydroseed, you can expect your lawn have to have a green coating. In the days following it is normal for the green dye to fade away. It is important that you stay off the lawn so that the seed does not become damaged. *We recommend to water your lawn 2 to 3 times a day for 15 minutes per section in order to prevent the product from drying out; as well as to speed up the maturation process. When the seed appears to have a mature and healthy root, water your lawn once a day for 15 minutes per section. *In the 4 to 5 weeks after the initial application of hydro seed, apply starter fertilizer (we recommend Triple 19 Starter Fertilizer) at bag application rate. Approximately 8 to 9 weeks after the initial application it is important to also begin an ongoing fertilizer plan. (Gardenin' Angels also can service your fertilizer program) How long does the process take? *On average lawns should grow in eight to ten weeks after the application of hydro seed. We recommend mowing your lawn after the grass is 3” to 4” inches high. -As always we offer FREE estimates for all landscaping services. It got me when you discussed that hydroseeding allows for more uniform seed germination. My friend told me that their lawn needs hydroseeding. I should advise him to turn to a firm that offers a large selection of erosion control seeding.
